Therapeutic Approach
What Will Our Therapy Look Like?
The postmodern perspective of psychology is an overarching influence in my practice. This means that I believe clients hold expert knowledge of themselves and that therapy should be a transparent, egalitarian, and collaborative process. First and foremost, I believe that therapy needs to provide you with a place where you can feel understood and respected as you move towards healing and personal growth.
Together, we will co-create what the specifics of therapy will look like. We may take an explorative and fluid approach or we may take a more structured approach that involves concrete goals and homework.
I utilize a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, as well as mindfulness and motivational enhancement techniques.
Areas of expertise include the following:
Anxiety Disorders
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Emotional dysregulation
Occupational stress
Parenting consultation
Managing chronic health issues
Coping with major life transitions or disruptions
In addition, I specialize in meeting the therapeutic needs of Third Culture Kids (TCKs) and adult TCKs. TCKs are children and teens who experience frequent relocations and are exposed to multiple cultural influences during their formative years.
I offer flexible hours, with evening availability. I also offer teletherapy services to those in Washington State. Feel free to contact me to learn more.
